Site Prep & Sweeping Party #1

Preparations will start Sun 18th June from 3pm. Mon 19th / Tues 20th may be added if needed. Please come and help support this crucial work. Bring a stiff broom or even better a leaf blower to remove gravel and debris from the circuit if you have one. We will have some available if not. Please share amongst your contacts and clubs. 2017 series details available

The 2017 series will comprise of 5 weeks starting 21st June. Full details are available from our Calendar and Race Details pages and British Cycling Online. Entries will solely be online in advance and open 7th June. There's a few tweaks and changes based on previous learning and changing volunteer support. As ever the series relies on voluntary support to stage the weekly races. Pleas and requirements will be posted shortly including Marshaling, First Aid, Course Prep and other duties. Please support the league and help deliver another successful year.

Can you help to make a 2017 series happen??

Week #5 Helpers plea – 20/7/16

We're back after the gap.
 
Please can you help to make the last 2 races run smoothly.
We really do need 20 people each week.
 
Support would be appreciated with the following please:
 
1) Site set up from 5pm
• Load Barriers onto transport
• Set up Barriers on Corners
• Tape various gateways
• Ride and test the course and report back course is safe
Find Matt Denny on arrival.
 
2) Finish line assistance from 5.50pm
• Assist photographers and timing transponder operators
• Call rider numbers
• Keep later races separated from current race

3) Event marshals and helpers
• Marshalling a corner
• Operating video cameras – working with Matt Kerr
• Holding riders at the start
• Write race reports – working with Phil Hetzel
 
4) Clear up and pack away
• Take down banners
• Collect in equipment
• Load vans and store in onsite stable
• Leave site nice and tidy
 
You CAN race and help so you are not necessarily needed for the whole evening. Please do rock up and pitch in.
 
Volunteers are rewarded with a warm glow of satisfaction and a coffee (other hot drinks available) from our onsite barrister.

Week #4 Cancelled

Regrettably for reasons beyond our control we have just had to cancel racing planned for 13th July. We have just closed entries and are issuing a refund (including BC admin fee) with our apologies.
Weeks #5 & #6 are scheduled to go ahead. We would to thank all riders, volunteers, supporting partners and sponsors for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you Weds 20th July. Kind regards SCRS Committee

SCRS Week #2 – helpers plea (incl specific callout)

A very big Thank You to those that helped make last week such a success. If you can continue to support please it really helps and makes the series viable A couple of additional areas are needed for Week 2 please. - Additional support in HQ to assist with the sign on team. - Additional support on the start/finish line to ensure races get underway and people are in the correct places etc. Phil Hetzel can help guide on this. Spaces in 4th Cat and E1234 Open race

We are pleased to say that we have confirmation from British Cycling that the fields can be increased from Week 2.   This has been applied to the BC entry website so please follow the link below if you want to race next week and were disappointed by the fields being full already.

First Aid Support needed please

We cannot operate without First Aid cover!!! If you are qualified, please come and help us and join our team headed by our lead Paramedic and Nurse. You won't be on your own.
