Week 6 with a BANG – Update

For Week 6, 18th July, the final week of the 2018 SCRS series, we would like as many marquees, banners and flags as possible from the clubs attending and ask for non-racing club members to come along to create some support, noise and colour for the last round (and remember to enter, click here!).

We will post an update on Monday evening with the timetable for the night, race times though will run according to schedule.

Activities on the night:

Prize Presentations - these will be held at the end of the evening, with league prizes from our sponsor Salice, as well as spot prizes and raffle draws.

Slow Bike race - along the start finish straight, the last person to finish wins, You must keep moving forward at all times, no track stands or foot (feet?) down. Open to all, including spectators. Judges say final!!!

Go Ride for Under 12's - free to take part in and open to any child under the age of 12 with a bicycle and helmet. We will be taking the kids onto the race circuit for the first part of Go Ride in week six, please arrive in good time. Go Ride commences at 6.00pm

Womens Taster Sessions - from 5.00pm 5.30 pm and 5.30pm to 6.00pm - very popular as our resident Women's coach Jo Newstead takes you through what to expect when a race starts, how to corner, hold lines etc and answer any questions you might have. If that buoys your confidence you can enter the Women's race later in the evening.

Face Painting - for the kids (and the big kids), many thanks to Debbie Hitchen!

Cycle Speedway - subject to enough volunteers, you can try out cycle speedway, with many thanks to Phil Clark.

Sign-On raffle - you will be entered when you sign on, your race number is your raffle number! The winners for all categories will be called on the night.

Cycle Jumble - bring along those bits of cycling kit that have been lying around. Please attach a price, your name and contact details to the item for sale. We will have some volunteers to help man the tables and take payment (cash only please). If an item sells, we will take the payment along with the description supplied so that you can collect your takings at the end of the evening.

Music - Steve Grimwood will be there with his party bus complete with sounds.

Food and Drink - there will be the Trinity Park drink and food stand on site. Clubs are also welcome to bring their own food and drink for their marquees.

Volunteers - we will need more than normal to help with set-up and break down. Please lend a hand on the night, it would be very much appreciated.

2018 League standings as of Week 5

The League tables and Results pages are bang up to date on the website, click here.

The Leagues make for interesting reading, the Cat 3/4 league could still turn on its head, a DNF, a fastest lap with a prime win could make all the difference. The same applies to the other leagues, primes and fastest laps could tip the balance.
